It is an unfortunate fact of life that many relationships, whether marriages or other forms of family relationships, run into difficulties.  We will use our expertise and considerable experience to help you resolve such difficulties.

• Resolving disputes over matrimonial and civil partnership finances
• Separation Agreements
• Resolving disputes over the financial consequences of the breakdown of other forms of family relationships such as cohabitation
• Resolving disputes over the arrangements for children including about who they will live with, whether this is to be on a shared care basis and if not what time they will spend with the other parent

In most cases, whether concerning money or children, agreement can be achieved by negotiation and we emphasise the importance of this rather than conflict and confrontation. 

In addition to the above we offer specialist help and legal services in:

• Protection from domestic violence
• Public Law Court proceedings concerning children.  These involve disputes with the relevant County Council as to the arrangements for children

LEGAL AID/PUBLIC FUNDING

Many clients needing help on the above areas may be eligible for Legal Aid, now called Public Funding.  We have a contract with the Legal Services Commission to offer legal advice and assistance in areas of family law.  We will assist you in an Application to the Legal Services Commission for Public Funding.  Eligibility for this is means assessed, and so depends on your income and capital. It is also assessed on whether you have a worthwhile case.
